The use of independent contractors to perform searches is not uncommon among TIAC policyholders. As a result, a commonly asked question is, “are independent contractors covered under the TIAC policy?” The TIAC policy does cover the work of independent contractors performed on behalf of an insured. However, TIAC recommends that you only work with independent contractors that carry their own professional liability insurance and are able to provide proof of coverage.
